HALO is a collection of two Ableton Live project files created to demonstrate a simple but often overlooked concept:
Great sound selection and balance can eliminate the need for excessive processing.
Inside you’ll find two Minimal Drum & Bass projects – VELA and URSAE – built around carefully selected sounds, clean arrangements and subtle processing. Instead of relying on complex effect chains, these projects focus on achieving impact through strong source material, thoughtful layering and balanced mixing decisions.
Explore how the drums, basses, atmospheres and FX work together, examine the routing and processing, and discover how much can be achieved before reaching for another plugin.
Alongside the project files you’ll also receive the original stems, Serumpresets and a selection of sounds used throughout the productions.
Whether you’re producing Minimal Drum & Bass, Deep DNB or Rollers, HALO offers a practical look at how strong foundations can often outperform complex processing chains.
## Requirements
– Ableton Live 12 Standard or higher – Xfer Serum 2 (optional) – Xfer Serum 2 FX (optional)
This project file is created using the latest version of Ableton Live Suite.
However, it can be opened in Ableton Live Standard editions without issues, as all tracks using Xfer Serum have been pre-frozen to ensure maximum compatibility.
For the best experience and full access to sound design settings, we recommend having Xfer Serum 2 and Xfer Serum 2 FX installed.

On a Mac: Locate the ZIP file and double-click on it. That’s it. A new folder will be created and all unzipped files will be there, ready for use.
If you’re trying to open a RAR file, we recommend trying with the free software The Unarchiver.
On a PC: Locate the file and right-click on it. Click “Extract all”.
For RAR files, try downloading and opening the file with WinRAR (it’s free!)
